About The Position

The Director of Ready Mix is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing regional ready mix operations, ensuring both operational and commercial excellence. Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President, this individual will lead efforts in planning, budgeting, forecasting, and developing performance metrics (KPIs) to drive efficiency and profitability across multiple sites. In this highly visible position, the Director will play a pivotal role in business development, vendor management, employee engagement, and alignment with corporate safety, environmental, and HR initiatives. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with deep industry knowledge, strong leadership capabilities, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible management experience in the construction materials industry.
  • Direct experience managing ready mix concrete operations.
  • Strong proficiency in industry-relevant software and computer systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to make compelling presentations.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in Construction, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in construction materials operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and coordination of regional operational and commercial plans for ready mix operations.
  • Implement, track, and manage KPIs for ready mix sales and operations to ensure alignment with corporate goals.
  • Support safety initiatives and promote a strong safety culture in collaboration with regional leadership.
  • Drive customer focus, quality assurance, and margin growth through pricing strategy and service delivery.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key vendors to ensure consistency and alignment across the region.
  • Inspire and mentor teams to foster a high-performance, employee-focused work culture.
  • Travel as needed across regional operations on short notice and for extended periods.
  • Serve as a company ambassador within the community and support broader regional and corporate initiatives.
