The Director of Quality is a key member of the leadership team responsible for setting and executing the quality vision and strategy across the organization. This individual will lead all aspects of quality assurance, control, and compliance while fostering a culture of safety, integrity, and continuous improvement. The Director will oversee quality systems, regulatory compliance, product and process quality, and customer satisfaction initiatives across multiple departments and facilities. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep expertise in aerospace quality standards, demonstrated leadership in quality management systems (QMS), and the ability to influence cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence.

  • Define and lead the organizational quality vision, strategy, and objectives aligned with company goals.
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of Quality Management Systems (QMS) across the enterprise.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality performance, driving accountability at all levels.
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant regulatory, industry (AS9100, ISO, etc.), and customer-specific quality standards.
  • Lead internal and external audits, including customer and third-party audits. Drive timely resolution of non-conformances.
  • Maintain all certifications and ensure site audit readiness at all times.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Program Management to ensure product quality from design through delivery.
  • Lead cross-functional root cause and corrective action initiatives (RCCA) to eliminate systemic quality issues.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing quality team, including managers, engineers, and inspectors.
  • Set clear expectations, mentor future leaders, and oversee training and certification programs.
  • Act as the voice of the customer within the organization with regard to quality concerns and product performance.
  • Build strong relationships with key customers and ensure timely resolution of customer complaints and quality issues.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate quality and compliance risks throughout the production and supply chain lifecycle.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Operations, or a related technical field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in aerospace quality, with 5+ years in a senior quality leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of AS9100, NADCAP and other aerospace quality standards.
  • Proven track record of leading successful audits and quality transformations.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent preferred.
  • Proficient in quality systems, metrics reporting, and ERP/MRP systems.
