About The Position

The Director of Supplier Quality is responsible for leading the strategic vision and execution of our supplier quality program. This role drives the development and implementation of supplier quality standards, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives to ensure product excellence and compliance with regulatory and industry standards. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with deep experience in supplier quality, risk management, and complex supply chains, able to influence both internally and externally to achieve outstanding results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Supply Chain, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years' experience in supplier quality, manufacturing, or quality engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Deep knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.) and regulatory requirements relevant to manufacturing.
  • Proven experience leading global supplier quality teams in complex, multi-tiered supply chains.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

  • Professional certifications such as ASQ CQE, CQA, Six Sigma.
  • Track record of successful quality improvement initiatives delivering measurable results.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee a robust supplier quality management system, aligned with company goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead a team responsible for supplier quality audits, performance management, and corrective action processes.
  • Build strategic partnerships with key suppliers, fostering continuous improvement in quality, delivery, and compliance.
  • Establish and track supplier metrics/KPIs, driving performance and accountability across the supply base.
  • Work closely with procurement, engineering, operations, and regulatory teams to align quality expectations and resolve quality issues.
  • Oversee supplier selection, qualification, and onboarding processes, ensuring new and existing suppliers meet rigorous quality standards.
  • Manage risk by proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating supply chain quality challenges.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and ensure effective implementation of corrective/preventive actions for supplier-related issues.
  • Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes, bringing best practices into the organization.
  • Lead supplier quality audits (on-site and remote) and coordinate third-party or customer audits as required.
  • Champion a culture of quality, ethics, and continuous improvement throughout the supply base.
