About The Position

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health is the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years, integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. This integrated delivery system is a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it ensures that residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. This full-service hospital includes 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, a 500-car garage, and a helipad for emergency transport. We are seeking an experienced Director of Quality, Regulatory, Accreditation & Patient Experience. Our ideal candidate will provide leadership and assume ultimate accountability for department, implementation, and coordination of hospital clinical and operational quality improvement programs. Ensures compliance with all regulatory guidelines and monitors quality improvement programs throughout the Hospital. Oversee the implementation of the accreditation plan to ensure a state of continuous survey readiness and compliance with district and federal regulatory requirements. In addition, have knowledge or ability to ascertain, hospital requirements for accreditations at an academic teaching hospital. Ensure an ongoing mechanism for proactive monitoring and auditing is developed, continually updated, and executed on a regular schedule and the results of any monitoring or auditing are made available to appropriate leadership.

Requirements

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, public health or related program from an accredited educational institution required.
  • MBA or MS degree in related healthcare field from an accredited educational institution preferred.
  • 5 - 8 years quality or related health care experience required; 10 years preferred.
  • Experienced in the use of statistical, security adjustment and benchmarking software and databases.
  • Expert knowledge of health and safety management strategies, quality assurance, quality improvement and continuous improvement methodologies and tools.
  • Expert working knowledge of systems theory and statistics.
  • Expert knowledge of healthcare regulations, guidelines and standards.
  • Knowledge of licensure regulations, Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization and state/federal standards.
  • Knowledge of Performance Improvement methodology and Outcomes Management.

Responsibilities
