About The Position

CoxHealth Rehabilitation Hospital, in partnership with Select Medical, is seeking a Director of Quality Management (DQM). Our inpatient rehabilitation hospital is committed to providing exceptional and compassionate care to best address the medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges for individuals with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. The DQM will coordinate the Medical Quality Management and Performance Improvement activities to measurably enhance the quality, process, and cost-effectiveness of patient and customer services rendered.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with valid state license.
  • Experience in at least one of the core areas of responsibility: Quality, Survey Readiness, Risk Management, Infection Control, Employee Health and Education.
  • Familiarity with accrediting standards, including TJC and CARF preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in Quality Improvement.
  • Statistical Process Control experience.
  • Computer skills preferred.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the Medical Quality Management and Performance Improvement activities.
  • Coordinates the Performance Improvement and Patient Safety programs in accordance with Federal and State regulations.
  • Oversees operations of the Infection Control and Employee Health Programs.
  • Develops and reviews policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and accrediting standards.
  • Collects data to monitor compliance and/or trends.
  • Institutes and monitors the Hospital’s CQI Processes, utilizing data analysis measuring tools.
  • Assists with the design and compliance of quality processes/activities in clinical/medical staff PI.
  • Assumes leadership with the Joint Commission and DOH regarding CQI activities.
  • Serves as a resource for all departments to provide guidance on Quality Improvement.
  • Assists clinical areas in developing criteria, monitoring, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Performs basic chart review activities for outcome utilization and CQI indicators.
  • Analyzes results of chart review activities and confers with department staff.
  • Prepares analysis of significant PI findings pertaining to adverse drug reactions and other CQI indicators.
