About The Position

We are seeking a Director of Quality and Product Safety for our Agricultural Ingredients business to lead and elevate quality and food safety across our operations. In this role, you will drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of systems that ensure raw materials, processes, and finished products not only meet but exceed company standards and global regulatory requirements. You will oversee Quality Assurance and Quality Control Managers across three plant locations, shape the group’s quality strategy, influence senior leadership decisions, and safeguard product integrity. This role is open to the Turlock or Livingston Plant locations.

Requirements

  • Preferably 7-10 years of experience in a leadership position within a Quality Assurance/ Food Safety/ Regulatory environment within the Food and/or Flavor manufacturing industry.
  • Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead through influence with multiple levels of leadership.
  • A minimum of a four-year equivalent degree in chemistry, microbiology, food science, or other related technical degree is required, advanced (Masters) degree preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a large international manufacturing environment is also preferred.
  • Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certification and implementation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead through change.
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts and implement quality improvement activities to raise the performance of the division’s product lines.
  • Educate, mentor and train employees as to their impact on the quality management system.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and standards that assure raw materials, processes, and finished products within Sensient Agricultural Ingredients consistently meet the quality standards necessary for complete customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee the customer complaint process and ensure complaints are investigated and closed within the targeted timeframe.
  • Reviews CAPA and closes Quality inquiries in CRM for all Agricultural Ingredients units.
  • Champion BRC compliance and a culture of food safety at each of the Agricultural Ingredient’s locations.
  • Assists with vendor food safety and quality audits for domestic and international suppliers.
  • Alert and provide counsel to the management team on technical, quality, and food safety matters.
