About The Position

The role involves initiating, developing, and implementing multi-year direct procurement strategies to integrate and leverage spend. The individual will lead category-specific cost management contract negotiations, develop and enforce contracts, and execute risk mitigation strategies for assigned categories. The position requires routine communication with key business stakeholders to align direction and category strategies, as well as finding and developing suppliers that provide the best value in terms of quality, cost, service, and innovation. The role also includes conducting benchmarking to identify cost reduction opportunities, working with R&D and Engineering teams to ensure timely delivery of new products, and following up on supply issues for continuous improvement. Additionally, the individual will participate in developing goals and budgets, negotiate contract modifications, and be responsible for team leadership within the procurement team. The role requires collaboration with various departments to deliver products that meet business requirements and establish processes that foster communication and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or Mechanical/Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Procurement/Supply Chain.
  • Experience in driving productivity.
  • Experience in Contract Negotiation.
  • Fully bilingual in English (oral and written).
  • AS400 knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, develop and implement multi-year direct procurement strategies to integrate and leverage spend.
  • Lead category specific cost management contract negotiations, development, and enforcement.

  • Work with R&D and Engineering teams to ensure new products are delivered on time.
  • Follow up on supply issues and work with suppliers on continuous improvement.
  • Participate in the development of goals and budgets for the area of responsibility.
  • Negotiate contract modifications and follow-up on quotations and terms with vendors.
  • Lead all aspects of people and team leadership within the procurement team.
  • Work with business partners to identify and drive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) process improvements.
  • Provide regular project status information to team members and attend required meetings.
  • Establish rules and methods to assess existing supplier performance.
  • Mitigate risk and promote compliance by maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Design, Product Development, Marketing, Quality, and Supply Chain.
  • Establish processes that foster communication and teamwork.
  • Maintain awareness of economic and business situations affecting pricing and delivery.
  • Evaluate supplier cost competitiveness and identify opportunities to reduce costs.
  • Develop, direct, and lead a formal supplier scorecard review annually.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
