About The Position

The Director of Purchasing & Contract Services provides leadership and oversight for the college’s procurement, contracting, and vendor management functions. This role ensures purchasing and contract activities are compliant, efficient, transparent, and aligned with institutional and system policies while supporting timely operations across the college. The Director plays a key role in strengthening procurement processes, contract management and managing risks, supporting capital and operational needs, and advancing best practices in purchasing and contract administration. Oversee day-to-day purchasing, procurement, and contract services operations. Ensure timely processing of purchase requisitions, purchase orders, contracts, and amendments. Manage vendor relationships and resolve purchasing or contract issues. Ensure accurate documentation and recordkeeping for procurement and contracts. Ensure compliance with state procurement laws, system policies, and institutional procedures. Review contracts for compliance, completeness, and appropriate approvals. Identify and mitigate procurement and contractual risk. Serve as primary liaison for procurement-related audits or reviews. Serve as functional lead for purchasing and contract services within the financial system. Improve workflows to reduce manual processes and increase efficiency. Develop and maintain standardized purchasing and contract templates, procedures, and timelines. Support training and guidance for campus users on procurement processes. Supervise and support purchasing and contract services staff. Provide guidance to departments on procurement planning and contract requirements. Coordinate closely with finance, legal, facilities, and system partners. Support capital projects, grants, and major initiatives through timely procurement and contract execution. Provide purchasing and contract data to support planning, budgeting, and decision-making. Contribute to institutional efforts focused on transparency, efficiency, and accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, public administration or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in higher education or public-sector procurement
  • Certification in procurement or contract management (e.g; CPPB, CPPO, CPCM)
  • Experience with ERP or financial management systems (Anthology preferred)
  • Experience supporting capital projects or complex contracts
  • Experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance
