The Director of Provider Coding and Education provides operational leadership for charge capture, CPT and ICD coding and coding education for INTEGRIS Medical Group and system employed billable providers. This position ensures the coding of professional services meet all required regulatory and compliance guidelines. INTEGRIS Health is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.   • Ensures department staff is managed effectively, including hiring, scheduling, training, evaluating performance and competency, and conducting disciplinary/counseling sessions as needed.
  • Responsible for developing department budgets, fiscal accountability and achieving financial goals/results.
  • Directs, supervises, plans and oversees the coding education and billing compliance of physicians, allied health and other practitioners with IMG and managed practices.
  • Directs the education follow-up for Corporate Compliance coding reviews and oversees coding audits for revenue optimization.
  • Develops and maintains effective ICD-10 training programs.
  • Designs and directs process for HCC capture and education.
  • Serves as point of contact for payer coding audits.
  • Directs the development and maintenance of charge review and claim edit work queues.
  • Trains and supervises staff to perform essential CDI functions of provider education so that physicians are able to practice and bill for services provided.
  • Works with Medicare Advantage staff to resolve payer issues related to HCC capture.
  • Provides leadership to coding and provider education staff, who serves as liaison to medical service providers to resolve issues while maintaining positive relationships with physician practices.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with external payers.
  • Serves as a key point of contact regarding education or coding issues, as well as chargemaster changes, with practice leadership, revenue management, and Professional Billing personnel.
  • Serves as coding representative on Ambulatory Informatics Committee.
  • Develops and maintains standard operating procedures for the department.
  • Prepares and maintains various reports and summaries for charge reconciliation.
  • Reports to the assigned Vice President
  • Business related Bachelors Degree or seven years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with medical professional billing.
  • Seven years of related management experience.
  • Five years of work experience with CPT and ICD coding.
  • Previous work experience relating to provider coding, education, compliance, HCC requirements, reimbursement requirements, Federal Healthcare Programs and regulatory compliance matters.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).
  • This job requires the incumbents to operate an INTEGRIS-owned vehicle OR personal vehicle (non INTEGRIS-owned) and therefore must have a current Drivers License from the state of residence, as well as a driving record which is acceptable to our insurance carrier.
