Acuren is recruiting for a Director of Proposals at our Tomball, TX location. The Director of Proposals provides strategic leadership and oversight of Acuren's proposal development function, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality, competitive, and compliant proposals that support the company's growth and profitability. This role partners closely with operations, sales, engineering, and executive leadership to manage all phases of the proposal lifecycle, from opportunity identification through post-submission follow-up. The Director ensures proposal strategies align with corporate objectives, customer requirements, and industry best practices, while fostering a culture of efficiency, consistency, and continuous improvement across the proposals team.

  • Develop and execute the overall proposal strategy to maximize win rates.
  • Partner with senior leadership to align proposal activities with business growth objectives.
  • Establish and enforce proposal standards, templates, and compliance protocols.
  • Oversee and manage the proposal lifecycle, including capture planning, writing, editing, reviews, and final submission.
  • Ensure proposals are fully compliant, compelling, and tailored to customer requirements.
  • Manage proposal schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Work closely with business development, operations, engineering, and finance teams to gather technical, operational, and pricing inputs.
  • Facilitate solution development sessions to craft winning strategies and value propositions.
  • Implement quality control processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment.
  • Monitor compliance with RFP/RFQ requirements and internal standards.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, competitor positioning, and customer evaluation criteria.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce turnaround times and increase efficiency.
  • Leverage proposal management software and digital tools for workflow automation and content management.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and retain top proposal talent.
  • Provide professional development opportunities in technical writing, graphics, compliance, and capture strategy.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture.
  • Other work duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrated successful end to end management of proposals within construction/industrial sector.
  • Familiarity with procurement portals such as SAP ARIBA, Jaggaer, Workday, GEP, etc. is considered an asset.
  • Commercially aware and conversant with all common contracting strategies; able to think logically and creatively when discussing and formulating proposal strategy.
  • Detail orientation with a successful track record of overseeing multiple priorities concurrently and within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written communication skills with specific attention to detail and content accuracy.
  • Ability to prepare and present clear and concise oral and written reports and presentations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Service and result-orientation, with the ability to build trust with a broad network of professional colleagues and team members.
  • APMP Certification would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in strategic pricing, estimating, forecasting, change management, and risk analysis.
