About The Position

COST of Wisconsin, Inc. creates award-winning themed construction for zoos, theme parks, resorts, casinos, museums, and more. We're seeking an experienced and hands-on Director of Project Management & Preconstruction to lead our project management, estimating, and preconstruction teams, from concept through closeout while developing talent, optimizing processes, and collaborating closely with clients and internal teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in construction management, project management, civil engineering, or a related field
  • 7+ years progressive experience in preconstruction, project management, and estimating
  • 5+ years in a direct leadership role, leading, managing, and setting metrics for cross-functional team members
  • Strong skills in estimating, scheduling, budgeting, cost control, contract interpretation, and risk management
  • PMP and OSHA-10 certifications required

Nice To Haves

  • LEED accreditation, field experience, and design-build background preferred
  • Experience with tools like Procore, MS Project, and ERP systems

Responsibilities

  • Lead, and train project managers, estimators, and preconstruction staff to success
  • Coordinate and align internal activities by establishing priorities, assigning responsibilities based on project requirements and team members’ skill sets; lead project planning, bidding, budgeting, and execution
  • Build customer relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, sales, shops, and field construction
  • Ensure quality, safety, and profitability across all projects; help to manage schedules, deviations, subcontractor relations, etc.
  • Oversee estimating and construction progress, with a focus on budget adherence and quality standards
  • Ensure accurate, competitive, and professional preparation and presentation of bids, proposals, contracts, and project plans
  • Monitor project financials, negotiate and understand contracts; and address cost projections, change orders, requisition reviews, and risk reporting
  • Drive team development and individual performance through coaching, setting KPI measures, and mentoring
