The Director of Project Controls is the functional leader for the Project Controls Department, acting as a part of the Company's strategic leadership team as key contributor to the safety, people, client and profit key results for the Company. Director is principally responsible for all project controls in the renewables market sector, including earned value management, schedule management, cost & change management, equipment and labor management, project forecasting, and the management and talent development for the project controls team behind those responsibilities. The Director is also responsible for implementing and continuously improving all project controls processes, systems, and tools within the Company and shall act as a key resource to other department team members and Company leadership. Senior staff within the Project Controls Department shall report directly to the Director, and the Director shall be responsible for managing, coordinating, and evaluating such staff's work and performance.

  • Establish and directly manage the back-office project controls team assigned to the operating groups.
  • Supervise the scheduling efforts for projects including preparation and analysis of schedule baseline, progress schedules, project labor forecasts, schedule analysis, and project progress reporting.
  • Give clear direction and targets to ensure all project controls team members achieve their goals.
  • Drive commitment in the Company to accurate and timely reporting, ensuring data-driven decisions.
  • Oversee and monitor project performance, progress and forecasts, validating and reporting on cost and schedule performance.
  • Assess the impact(s) of project changes and assist project teams in developing claims, change orders, and recovery plans.
  • Coordinate the development, validation, and baselining of project estimates with the estimating and operations teams.
  • Assist with the performance of value-engineering analysis.
  • Interface with project stakeholders as a trusted advisor to provide guidance and recommendations for controls on projects.
  • Foster team growth through targeted individual project assignments and establishing mentor/mentee relationships.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Create, edit, publish, and maintain project controls standard operating procedures.
  • Develop or refine project controls systems, challenging obsolete practices.
  • Perform reviews and undertake audits of project teams' implementation and use of project controls processes.
  • Oversee and guide the implementation, training, and support activities for operations groups and project teams.
  • Work closely with all directors and Company leadership to develop and accomplish goals and strategic plans.
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering or related major.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) certification and/or Project Scheduling Professional (PSPPMI-SP) certification preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in project management and/or project controls.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Renewable energy construction experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6.
  • Proficient in InEight Estimating, Control, and Progress modules or similar platform.
  • Construction industry experience in linear infrastructure construction or renewables required.
  • Proven ability to lead others.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Well-organized.
  • Compensation $158,555-$206,099/ year, commensurate with experience.
