About The Position

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Director of Program Management to join our team in our Baton Rouge, Louisiana office. The Director of Program Management, Power Transmission and Distribution, will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading the newly established Program Management Division within a large national engineering company. This position is responsible for driving the growth, operational excellence, and successful execution of complex transmission and distribution (T&D) programs across the nation. The Director will be instrumental in setting the business unit’s strategic direction, building high-performing teams, developing robust policies and procedures, and fostering strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders. The role requires significant travel to project sites, client locations, and company offices nationwide.Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, civil) or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years of professional experience, with at least 10 years in project/program management roles specific to power transmission and distribution projects.
  • Industry Expertise: Deep understanding of the power industry, with a focus on T&D project delivery, business development, and client relationship management.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, lead, and develop the new program management business focused on power transmission and distribution. Set strategic goals and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Drive business growth by identifying new opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and supporting proposal development and contract negotiations.
  • Oversee the delivery of program management services, ensuring projects are executed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.
  • Direct large-scale, multi-project portfolios in the power T&D sector, ensuring successful delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Recruit, mentor, develop, and lead a high-performing team of program and project managers. Foster a culture of collaboration, entrepreneurship, accountability, and professional development.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve policies, procedures, and management systems to support program delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders. Serve as a primary point of contact for strategic accounts.
  • Work closely with other divisions, especially Power and Renewables, to ensure integrated service offerings and leverage organizational capabilities.
  • Work with PMO staff to implement best practices on all power related programs
  • Travel extensively to client sites, project locations, and company offices as required (anticipated 40–60% of the time).
