LexisNexisHorsham, PA

About The Position

Are you passionate about turning strategy into disciplined execution? Do you thrive on bringing clarity, rigor, and predictability to complex product organizations? About the Team At LexisNexis Intellectual Property Solutions, we are building a modern, product-led, AI-driven organization designed to deliver measurable customer and commercial impact. As our portfolio evolves around value domains and AI-enabled workflows, operational excellence and investment discipline are critical to sustainable growth. Our Product organization operates across multiple domains, partnering closely with Engineering, UX, Data, and Commercial teams to deliver differentiated analytics and workflow solutions. As we scale, we are strengthening the systems, governance, and planning rigor that enable predictable, high-quality execution across a complex portfolio. About the Role We are seeking a Director of Product Operations & Portfolio Planning to serve as the operational backbone of our product organization. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, this leader will design and run the mechanisms that translate strategy into predictable execution across a multi-domain portfolio. This is not a traditional PMO role. You will not own product decisions or roadmaps. Instead, you will own the systems, cadence, governance frameworks, and planning discipline that ensure teams execute effectively as complexity grows. You will establish quarterly portfolio planning processes, enforce prioritization rigor, improve delivery predictability, and enable data-driven investment decisions across Product, Engineering, UX, and Commercial teams. This role is critical to scaling a high-performing, AI-enabled organization.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Product Operations, Portfolio Management, or Strategic Program Leadership.
  • Proven experience scaling product-led organizations with multiple product lines and operating in complex, matrixed environments.
  • Strong understanding of agile product development and software delivery practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement structured prioritization frameworks and run quarterly or rolling investment reviews.
  • Experience working with portfolio management tools such as Aha, Jira, or similar platforms.
  • Exceptional facilitation and executive communication skills, with the ability to guide structured decision-making across senior stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate operational data into actionable insights.
  • Proven track record of driving execution discipline without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in B2B SaaS, analytics, or AI-driven product environments.
  • Background in enterprise data or platform organizations.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling and capital allocation principles.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and operating a disciplined Quarterly Portfolio Planning process that translates annual strategy into enforceable quarterly commitments.
  • Ensuring initiatives are outcome-based and capacity-anchored, facilitating structured trade-off discussions, and driving resource allocation discipline.
  • Establishing portfolio dashboards and investment transparency to support executive decision-making.
  • Improving commitment reliability and reducing mid-quarter scope churn.
  • Proactively surfacing cross-team dependencies and resolving escalation pathways.
  • Tracking and reporting execution health metrics—including predictability, cycle time, rework, and delivery risk—and implementing lightweight but rigorous governance frameworks.
  • Owning Aha (or equivalent) as the system of record for portfolio planning.
  • Standardizing initiative intake, prioritization templates, and scoring frameworks.
  • Partnering with Engineering leadership to align product planning with the SDLC and building repeatable planning and reporting mechanisms across domains.
  • Partnering closely with Product, CTO, UX, Finance, and Commercial leadership to align investment planning with revenue targets and capacity constraints.
  • Facilitating executive portfolio reviews and structured decision forums to drive alignment and transparency.
  • Leading Technical Program Managers supporting cross-domain execution.
  • Building a high-performance, data-driven Product Operations function and fostering a culture of accountability, clarity, and operational excellence.
  • Within 12 months, you will have: Established a disciplined quarterly planning cadence Increased commitment predictability to greater than 85% Reduced scope churn and dependency bottlenecks Enabled data-driven portfolio trade-offs and investment decisions Improved cross-domain transparency and execution alignment
