About The Position

The Director of Product Management will have 7+ years of digital product management experience working on a cross-functional team. The candidate will be ultimately responsible for the direction and growth of defining the products and related strategies to implement technology solutions that provide value to our properties and tenants, increase the efficiency of our teams, and fulfill unmet product demand. They are self-assured, passionate about self-improvement, and helping others to achieve their best results. Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in digital product management (not project management).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related discipline, military experience, or relevant demonstrable professional experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience working directly with software developers and engineering teams.
  • Strong background in agile methodology; ability to capture business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL).
  • Comfort with exploring and testing software—able to understand technical systems, even if not writing the code.
  • Hands-on exposure to tools such as Figma (wireframing/mockups), Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Node.js, and JavaScript.
  • Understanding of APIs and how data objects work together.
  • Experience with issue tracking in systems like Azure DevOps.

Nice To Haves

  • Translating business strategy and analysis into consumer-facing digital products.
  • Domain knowledge in multifamily, student housing, build-to-rent, or construction industries.
  • Leading software evaluations and implementations, rather than just rolling out existing vendor tools (e.g., beyond Paycom-style deployments).
  • Building reporting pipelines, contributing to AI/machine learning roadmaps, and scaling data ecosystems.
  • Experience working at companies at different stages of growth.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the research, design, and development activities to guide and support the lifecycle management of technology products.
  • Organize and manage user tickets; follow up on development progress.
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements; speak with business partners to clarify wants/needs and reformulate them into actionable tech asks.
  • Document data fields, formulas, and requirements thoroughly.
  • Partner with business leaders and software partners on new tools and technology coming onto the radar.
  • Demo products and conduct user testing to validate requirements.
  • Explore new software and document how data is captured, tracked, and shared across the ecosystem.
  • Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies to help define and groom work for engineers.
  • Step in to oversee reporting pipelines and contribute to the machine learning/AI roadmap.
  • Develops product delivery schedules and manages resources to release products on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with software developers, report writers, and engineers to ensure alignment of deliverables.
  • Work with data teams to connect reporting, API integrations, and data objects across the ecosystem.
  • Effectively communicate business opportunities and technical decisions behind product portfolios that tie back to company objectives.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary as needed.
  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned by management.
