About The Position

The Director of Product Line Management at Cisco's Acacia team plays a crucial role in driving product development from concept to profitable portfolio. This position requires a deep understanding of the product lifecycle, collaboration with various teams, and a focus on customer engagement and market success.

Requirements

  • BS or higher degree in Optical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 plus years of experience in product management or product marketing.
  • Experience understanding client optics market and IEEE standardization, or a willingness to quickly learn.
  • Experience with the full product life cycle process in product releases, with experience in Return on Investment analysis.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, demonstrated through various professional or personal experiences.
  • Knowledge of the client optics market and competitive landscape, or a strong interest and ability to quickly learn.
  • Experience presenting in public forums, such as trade shows, conferences, or community events, or a willingness to develop these skills.
  • Experienced in communicating a clear strategy and motivate team members, with demonstrated leadership skills in any setting.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with Customers: Attend meetings, showcase product features, and gather requirements.
  • Drive Product Success: Lead the product through every stage of its life cycle, ensuring specs, quality, market timing, and profitability.
  • Define Requirements: Establish clear product requirements.
  • Present Roadmaps: Share the product and technology roadmap with customers.
  • Execute and Review: Oversee all phases of the Product Life Cycle and ensure successful Decision Reviews.
  • Shape Strategy: Influence strategic decisions on customer engagement, prioritization, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with Operations: Partner with the operations team to enhance supply chain security, manufacturability, capacity ramp-up, and cost reduction.
