About The Position

The Director of Procurement is responsible for leading the strategic sourcing, purchasing, vendor management, and supply chain operations for the organization’s home health services. This role ensures cost-effective procurement of medical supplies, equipment, technology, and services while maintaining regulatory compliance and supporting high-quality patient care. The Director partners cross-functionally with Clinical, Finance, IT, and Operations teams to drive cost savings, process efficiency, and supply chain standardization across all locations.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of procurement or supply chain experience.
  • 3–5+ years in healthcare (home health experience strongly preferred).
  • Experience negotiating enterprise-level contracts.
  • Experience working with multi-site healthcare operations preferred.
  • Strategic sourcing and contract negotiation expertise
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen
  • Proficiency in ERP and procurement systems
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Process improvement mindset
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment

Nice To Haves

  • CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management)
  • CPPO or other relevant certification
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Lead RFP processes and vendor negotiations for medical supplies, DME, pharmaceuticals (if applicable), technology platforms, fleet services, and administrative supplies.
  • Establish and manage contracts to ensure favorable pricing, service levels, and compliance.
  • Leverage GPO relationships to optimize pricing and rebates.
  • Evaluate, onboard, and monitor vendors for performance, cost, quality, and compliance.
  • Develop vendor scorecards and performance review processes.
  • Maintain strong strategic vendor relationships to ensure service continuity and innovation.
  • Standardize supplies across branches to reduce variability and cost.
  • Implement inventory management best practices and systems.
  • Ensure timely delivery of supplies to clinicians and/or patient homes.
  • Develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
  • Manage procurement budget and forecasting.
  • Analyze spend data and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Monitor supply expense per patient episode and recommend efficiency improvements.
  • Drive annual cost reduction initiatives.
  • Ensure vendor compliance with CMS, state regulations, infection control standards, and HIPAA (as applicable).
  • Maintain documentation for audits and accreditation reviews.
  • Develop procurement policies and procedures aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and develop procurement team (if applicable).
  • Collaborate with Clinical leadership to ensure supply quality meets care standards.
  • Partner with Finance to support budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Support organizational growth initiatives (new branches, acquisitions, etc.).
