About The Position

Chainalysis is seeking a finance-minded procurement leader to drive disciplined spend management, vendor rationalization, and strategic buying across the company. This role owns the end-to-end procurement strategy, with a strong mandate to optimize costs, consolidate software and vendors, and ensure purchasing decisions align with financial plans and business priorities. This is a highly visible role suited for someone who thrives in a high-growth environment and is motivated by delivering measurable savings, improving unit economics, and supporting sustainable scale.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or vendor management, ideally in a high-growth technology or SaaS company
  • Demonstrated success driving cost savings, vendor rationalization, and software consolidation initiatives
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to tie procurement decisions directly to budgets, forecasts, and unit economics
  • Deep negotiation experience across software and technology categories; comfort partnering with Legal and redlining contracts
  • Experience operating as a strategic business partner, influencing cross-functional leaders without direct authority
  • Familiarity with modern procurement and spend-management tools (e.g., Coupa, Zip, Omnea, Levelpath)
  • Ability to thrive in lean environments with evolving processes and priorities

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with Finance to manage vendor spend in line with budgets, forecasts, and company-wide financial objectives, driving cost savings and cost avoidance through disciplined renewals, pricing benchmarks, demand management, and structured sourcing strategies.
  • Own the vendor portfolio with a mandate to rationalize and consolidate software and technology vendors, reducing redundancy, improving utilization, and lowering total cost of ownership.
  • Lead high-impact negotiations across key spend categories, particularly software and technology, running competitive RFx processes and negotiating pricing, contract structures, and commercial terms that deliver measurable financial outcomes.
  • Act as a strategic business partner by providing financial analysis, market intelligence, and pricing benchmarks to guide vendor selection and spending decisions early in the purchasing lifecycle.
  • Own and automate the end-to-end procure-to-pay process, including intake, vendor onboarding, spend review, approvals, and purchasing, while enforcing procurement policy and a strict “no purchase order, no pay” standard.
  • Identify and implement workflow automation and AI-enabled solutions to improve efficiency, spend visibility, compliance, and scalability of procurement operations.
  • Ensure procurement processes support strong financial controls, audit readiness, and policy compliance while remaining efficient and user-friendly for stakeholders.
  • Define and track procurement KPIs focused on savings, vendor concentration, utilization, and procurement ROI, delivering clear, data-driven reporting to Finance and executive leadership.
  • Partner closely with Legal, Security, and Compliance to manage contract risk, third-party due diligence, and regulatory considerations across the vendor lifecycle.
  • Drive change management and stakeholder enablement to ensure procurement policies, tools, and processes are well understood, adopted, and embedded across the organization.
