About The Position

This is a high-impact leadership role where you will define and execute the global legal strategy for privacy and data security. You will lead a team of legal professionals responsible for protecting sensitive data, ensuring compliance with global privacy regulations, and enabling secure business operations. Acting as a strategic partner to Security, Engineering, IT, and Commercial teams, you will provide guidance on complex privacy, security, and compliance matters. This role requires both technical fluency and pragmatic legal judgment to manage risk while supporting innovation. You will navigate complex incidents, negotiate privacy and security provisions in commercial agreements, and influence the companyâs approach to data governance. This position combines strategic vision, hands-on legal expertise, and leadership to safeguard critical assets and maintain trust with global stakeholders.

Requirements

10+ years of legal experience with at least 5 years focused on privacy and data security in SaaS, cybersecurity, or related technology sectors
Proven experience leading legal teams and managing cross-functional initiatives in high-growth environments
Deep understanding of global privacy laws and regulations and their practical application
Strong technical knowledge of cloud architecture, API integrations, data flows, and AI governance considerations
Demonstrated experience negotiating privacy and security provisions in commercial contracts
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in the U.S.
Excellent judgment, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to influence and partner with diverse stakeholders

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a global legal strategy for privacy and data security aligned with organizational growth and product innovation
Lead and mentor a legal team, fostering development, cross-functional collaboration, and operational excellence
Advise on privacy and security aspects of commercial contracts, partnerships, and product initiatives
Collaborate with Security, Engineering, IT, and Product teams to integrate legal requirements into technical operations
Lead legal support for incident management and response, ensuring timely, compliant, and strategic guidance
Maintain awareness of global privacy laws and regulatory requirements, including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other international frameworks
Act as a pragmatic legal partner, balancing risk management with enabling business objectives
