We are adding a Director of Preconstruction to our growing Construction division in Seattle, WA.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated proficiency for all the responsibilities of a Pre-Construction leader and estimating manager.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, construction management or equivalent electrical construction experience required.
  • Experience in financial/performance contracting required.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, contracts, proposals and estimates required.
  • Knowledge of building infrastructure mechanical and electrical systems required.
  • Ten (10) years of experience with an electrical construction contractor.
  • Knowledge of cost and estimating methods and platforms required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares quantitative estimates using McKinstry estimating platforms.
  • Manages conceptual and quantitative estimating processes.
  • Drives technology initiatives into processes for the group.
  • Manages standard operating procedures and Project Life Cycle requirements for both cost and operationally focused preconstruction tasks.
  • Coordinates with Business Unit Managers, Project Executives and Project Managers to ensure successful set up and execution of projects.
  • Manages the internal pre-construction processes.
  • Trains team members on cost and estimating methods and platforms.
  • Coaches and develops pre-construction team members.
  • Selects, develops, and manages employees.
  • Responsible for integrating the preconstruction team cohesively into the culture of each Electrical Business Unit.
