About The Position

YouGov is seeking a client-facing Director of Polling who will be involved in project management from proposal through delivery. They will serve as a bridge between external clients and internal teams. They will manage the survey research process internally by working cross-functionally with lateral team members. They will have demonstrated expertise working with quantitative data. They should have a formal background in survey research and methodology. Additionally, they must have four or more years working in political and or policy research. They should demonstrate a good grasp of analytical techniques commonly used in market research. The Director of Polling will bring a strong background to all phases of the data collection process from design to reporting. The director will be able to design, coordinate and execute a survey project from start to finish with their team members and YouGov tools. The Director will be involved in proposal writing. This will involve research design, feasibility checking, pricing, and contracting. 3-5 years previous experience with quantitative market research, academic research, or related field. Advanced degree may offset work experience. Competence with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word). Experience with Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides desirable. Experience with statistical software such as R, SPSS, SAS, or Stata. Working knowledge of introductory level statistics, plus real-world experience working with large datasets. Experience with data visualization. Able to excel independently with direction. Strong client communication skills. Should be able to form a collaborative relationship in a friendly and professional manner, anticipating research questions and needs. Able to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting project deadlines. Able to multi-task with excellent organizational and time management skills. Relentless attention to detail. Strong analytical skills. A drive to collaborate with your cross-functional colleagues on complex research design. Strong written and oral communication skills with internal teams For roles based in California, New York, Colorado, Massachusetts, or Washington State, the base salary hiring range for this position is $97,000 - 135,000 USD. Compensation offered will be determined by multiple factors including location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation and additional benefits.
