About The Position

The Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) is seeking applicants for a full-time Director in the Policy Services department. This position reports to the Associate Executive Director of Policy Services and will be headquartered in IASB’s Springfield office. The Policy Services Director is responsible for the management of assigned policy and administrative procedures manual customization projects, visiting school districts throughout the state to facilitate such projects, and development, delivery, marketing, and continuous improvement of existing and new policy services and trainings for IASB members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience as a school board member, in education, or legal experience is a plus.
• Excellent organizational abilities.
• Strong communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Public speaking skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Valid Illinois driver's license and a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned policy and administrative procedures manual customization projects.
• Visit school districts throughout the state to facilitate policy projects.
• Develop, deliver, and market policy services and trainings for IASB members.
• Continuously improve existing policy services.
