About The Position

The Director of Plant Operations at MountainView Hospital is responsible for overseeing the Plant Operations Department, ensuring effective maintenance and operation of hospital facilities and equipment. This role involves planning, organizing, and directing departmental activities in compliance with health and safety regulations, while also managing personnel matters and coordinating with other departments to meet operational needs.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent, approved apprenticeship program, or journeyman program.
• 5 years of supervisory/management experience in a healthcare engineering setting.
• Experience in hospital plant operations and construction/project management is strongly preferred.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
• Good visual and aural acuity for paperwork and work involving the computer and telephone.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Experience in construction project management.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and control the activities of Plant Operation Department personnel.
• Administer and supervise the preventative maintenance program for the physical plant.
• Monitor departmental personnel matters including selection, training, promotion, and discipline.
• Schedule and supervise maintenance repair work, alterations, and minor construction.
• Act as Facility Fire Marshall and coordinate fire prevention and safety measures.
• Negotiate priorities, plans, and contracts with other departments and administration.
