About The Position

The Plant Operations Director at Oceans Healthcare is responsible for leading the Plant Operations Department across multiple hospital facilities. This role involves overseeing all aspects related to the physical plant, including engineering, safety, security, and compliance with regulatory standards. The Director ensures that the hospital's operations align with Joint Commission, Federal, and State regulations while providing guidance on construction and remodeling projects. The position also includes collaboration with various departments to maintain a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years in Facilities Management, preferably in Healthcare.
  • Experience in management/supervision of a Plant Operations Department including EVS, Security, Grounds, and Biomed.
  • Knowledge of facility buildings, equipment, and utilities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in Engineering preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Mathematics, computer, reasoning, and language skills preferred.
  • Must be able to perform heavy work, including lifting, climbing, and using hand tools.
  • Must successfully complete CPR certification and an approved behavioral health de-escalation program.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and oversee the Organization's Plant Operations Program, including facility maintenance and life safety.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain documentation of plant operations functions.
  • Inspect the facility for proper operation and working conditions, maintaining maintenance records.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Plant Operations Director for auditing and training purposes.
  • Lead the bidding process for facility repairs and replacements, coordinating with outside vendors as necessary.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Plant Operations staff, ensuring skilled maintenance and repairs are performed.
  • Conduct audits of the facility's compliance with Life Safety Standards and prepare corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate with the Environment of Care Director on safety and training initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations to the Hospital Leadership Team for promoting a safe workplace and care environment.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
