We are currently seeking a Physical Plant Director to be responsible for the oversight of the overall maintenance, repair, and operation of the building, grounds, equipment, and systems. It’s a big place! The Crossings has close to 290,000 square feet of building space and sits on 19 acres. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities management, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for our residents, guests and staff.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role (Maintenance Supervisor or Superintendent) leading facilities management in a large and complex setting with a strong acumen in Mechanical, Electrical, Life Safety, and Fire Protection Systems
- Proficiency with inventory control and expense control

Responsibilities
- Developing, directing and executing preventative maintenance programs.
- Assuring compliance with local/state/federal regulations, including fire and life safety.
- Conducting audits and regular inspections, identifying needs and executing correction.
- Managing work order flow to meet resident expectations
- Assisting with the development and directing Fire Safety and Disaster Preparedness Evacuation procedures.
- Negotiation and management of vendor contracts/agreements, including ongoing relationships with vendors.
- Leads approximately 20 staff on the maintenance and housekeeping teams.
- Oversees work of contracted landscapers
- Frequent rounding of buildings and grounds while developing relationships with staff and residents.
- Rolling up sleeves and getting it done, sometimes after hours and on weekends.
