About The Position

We are seeking a Director of Photonics Assembly in our Broomfield, CO Location. You will be responsible for the overall transition of photonic devices and optoelectronic hybrid systems from research and development into assembly, test, installation, operation, and maintenance on large-scale, commercial quantum computers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree minimum
  • Minimum 10 years of industry experience in high-tech field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in design, development, test, fabrication, and/or handling of photonic devices
  • Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
  • Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in physics or engineering
  • Clear and demonstrable understanding of the physics of photonic device failure modes
  • Experience building high-performance and high-reliability test infrastructure, including databases for storage, retrieval, and analysis of test data
  • Experience performing reliability calculations, failure modes and effect criticality analyses (FMECA), etc
  • Experience taking high-level business goals and formulating into actionable, clear plans
  • Ability to partner with director-level peers across a wide array of organizations (R&D, Design, Production, Supply Chain, and Operations) to plan and implement complex, cross-disciplinary operations

Responsibilities

  • With partners in photonics R&D and microfabrication, drive Production test and validation plans from development and delivery schedules. Lead the transition from R&D to production.
  • Lead implementation of photonic test infrastructure for Production devices – high-thruput metrology, test equipment, data acquisition software and databases; archiving, retrieval and analysis software; partner with photonics design and test teams during R&D stages to assure test readiness for high-reliability handling of production photonic devices
  • Analyze and assess photonic test data and failure physics. Partner with architecture, design, and operations teams to drive system-level reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) into early design efforts and deployment plans
  • Plan and lead system-level integration, validation, and operation and maintenance of photonic systems within commercial-scale quantum computers
