Director of Pharmacy
About The Position
As a full time, exempt Director of Pharmacy at Sierra Vista Hospital, you will oversee all pharmacy operations including planning, organizing, controlling, and supervising activities, according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and state and federal laws. You will recommend innovations in the practice and function of the pharmacy to hospital administration and carry out mutually agreed upon programs with assistance from a full support team. Schedule: This full-time, exempt position will work at least 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:00pm, and on-call on an as needed basis About the Facility: Sierra Vista Hospital is a private 171-bed facility providing behavioral health, chemical dependency and dual diagnosis services to individuals and their families throughout northern and central California About the Pharmacy: Pharmacy hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm and utilizes HCS, Omnicell and Medidose You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.
Requirements
- BS or PharmD from an accredited School of Pharmacy
- Current California Pharmacist license in good standing
- 3+ years supervisory/management experience in a healthcare setting
- Experience using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and pharmacy information systems
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, respond to client concerns, and work cooperatively with all staff
Nice To Haves
- Experience in an inpatient hospital environment
- Successful completion of a Residency program
Responsibilities
- Maintain regulatory compliance with all state and federal laws
- Ensure correct medications are available to patients and provided in a timely manner
- Collaborate with staff to ensure standardized services are provided and maintained
