About The Position

The Director of Ambulatory Pharmacy Contracting and Analytics supports contract management for outpatient, specialty, and ambulatory pharmacy contracts. This position requires strategic foresight, negotiation expertise, and a robust understanding of pharmacy operations, market dynamics, and healthcare regulations. The Director formulates and executes contracting strategies with insurance companies, pharmacy benefits managers (PBMs), and healthcare organizations. This includes analyzing payer-specific formularies, terms, and conditions to align with the organization's financial and operational goals. Collaborating with pharmaceutical manufacturers, the Director negotiates rebates, discounts, network access and pricing agreements. They ensure that these arrangements comply with regulatory standards and are aligned with the organization's overall strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • 3 years working in contracting related role.
  • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical industry, contracts, and health-system-based outpatient and ambulatory pharmacy operations.
  • Ability to analyze data and inputs and turn that data into actionable activities/plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Proficient in creating and completing effective contracts within established timeframes.
  • Proven ability to lead a project to successful completion.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters Degree in healthcare or business related field.
  • Understanding of the 340B program and related contracts.
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy and contracting laws.
  • Demonstrated understanding of clinical departments and their relationship to pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains standards related to consistent implementation of contract strategy and value propositions through analysis of contract performance.
  • Monitoring contractual agreements for adherence, fulfillment of the terms, and tracking critical dates of obligations (both internal and external).
  • Assesses ongoing strategies relative to industry trends and best practices to ensure that successful contracted relationships are producing win-win situations for AdventHealth and industry partners.
  • Partners with finance, strategy, and clinical leadership stakeholders through regular interaction to ensure alignment with system-wide goals.
  • Collaborates with regional and corporate stakeholders to support consistency of contract management for outpatient, specialty and ambulatory pharmacy contracts.
  • Collaborates with payer and drug manufacturer partners to achieve the organization's outpatient, specialty and ambulatory pharmacy goals.
  • Developing data driven decision-support infrastructure by designing and implementing insightful dashboards, reporting capabilities and data visualizations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and data requirements.
  • Monitors PSAO and payer specific reimbursement schedules to ensure reimbursement targets are met during the contract lifecycle.
  • Ensuring that negotiated agreements are operationally feasible and integrated smoothly into pharmacy workflows.
  • Providing guidance and training to pharmacy teams about the implications of payer and manufacturer contracts.
