About The Position

The Director of People Development leads and coordinates organization-wide efforts to ensure that the business develops and retains the best talent to achieve business and strategic objectives. Ensures that effective performance management, talent development, career development, learning and succession planning approaches and systems are deployed which are aligned to the long-term growth of the business. Helps drive employee engagement, and company values to support our unique employee owner culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in organizational development or organizational psychology.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in HR, L&D and talent development.
  • Leading cross-functional teams experience.
  • Project management and leadership experience.
  • Experience in coaching and facilitation skills a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Leads all aspects of the integrated performance development process (PDP) and talent strategy to achieve both short- and long-term business goals.
  • Lead strategic efforts for talent identification, tracking, movement, and development.
  • Develop new strategies to build a high quality and diverse talent pipelines of key technical and leadership talent.
  • Create and support the strategy with the business leaders to build AAG's culture through our values and ideal behaviors to attract, retain and grow a high performing and diverse talent base.
  • Actively manage the change management processes associated with organizational changes, processes, and system implementation involving HR business partners and business managers/leaders.
  • Develop and implement the talent management strategy, including succession planning, leadership learning and development, management learning and development as well as career development across the organization.
  • Drives processes for clear organizational goal deployment, regular review and feedback mechanisms are in place and performance reviews are completed properly and in a timely manner.
  • Use metrics to drive effectiveness and improvement initiatives.
  • Drives standardization and process adherence across the business.
  • Monitors the performance reviews and development plans for completion and effectiveness.
  • Works closely with Talent Acquisition to help identify talent for key, senior level roles within the organization.
  • Continually evaluates the quality of the existing talent and learning programs to identify opportunities for improvement using feedback from internal customers to establish priorities and needs.
  • Lead and conduct all training related to talent and leadership development and systems to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
  • Collect, analyze and develop action plans to improve talent, culture, development and performance management effectiveness.
  • Discuss and coach career-pathing options with high-potential employees and their team leaders.
  • Coach leaders and executives in skills and methods to identify high potential talent.
  • Contribute to the design, development and execution of organization development talent solutions including needs assessments.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to leaders and employees managing the execution of the performance and talent development process.
  • Lead and oversee training and development process including content design, e-learning and workshop learning within the LMS.
  • Design and implement management development and career development programs across all organizational levels.
  • Stays abreast of the most current methods and resources available.
  • In partnership with HRIS, provide data analytics to drive utilization, efficiency of delivery and effectiveness of the LMS.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
