About The Position
The Cohen Children's Northwell Health Pediatric Service Line and Department of Pediatrics at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell Health is seeking a full-time board eligible/board certified Pediatric Hospitalist to direct the In-Patient Pediatrics Unit and lead the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, NY. This position is designed for an experienced pediatrician with a strong background in Pediatric Hospital Medicine, ideally with at least five years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the quality improvement activities of the department, demonstrating a proven track record in teaching and supervising residents, and possessing the requisite administrative skills necessary for this leadership role. In this position, the Director will play a lead role in developing clinical protocols and will be expected to attend various administrative and academic meetings. Responsibilities will encompass patient care, supervision of learners, and quality improvement oversight. Additionally, there will be opportunities for participation in clinical research, collaboration with Cohen Children's Medical Center to implement best practices, and involvement in the development of clinical policies and procedures. This role offers a unique chance to join a collaborative team of six Pediatric Hospitalists who cover nursery care, inpatient pediatrics, and emergency department consults.
