  • Prevent future harm by initiating and overseeing proactive evaluation and redesigning of systems to improve care processes.
  • Support improved outcomes by emphasizing both appropriate behaviors and robust systems.
  • Improve consistent delivery of evidence-based care and reduction in preventable harm.
  • Reduce variation in care delivery and partner with the Patient Safety Organization.
  • Effectively report, investigate, and analyze patient safety incidents and medical errors.
  • Facilitate thorough and credible serious event analysis.
  • Perform Patient Safety Rounds to identify patient safety risks.
  • Champion completion of Culture of Safety Survey and facilitate analysis of results.
  • Provide ongoing education to leaders, clinicians, and staff on patient safety initiatives.
  • Engage patients/families in the patient safety program.
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare related field required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Certification in Patient Safety (CPPS) required.
  • Clinical background required.
  • Minimum of three years' healthcare experience in patient safety, risk, and/or quality preferred.
  • TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer certification.
  • Experience in a clinical setting such as Hospital or Ambulatory Surgery Center.
