About The Position

Aiken Regional Medical Centers, located in Aiken, South Carolina, is a 273-bed acute care facility providing top quality and safe healthcare to the residents of Aiken and surrounding communities since 1917. Aiken Regional Medical Centers has been ranked a top hospital in South Carolina by the American Heart Association for its treatment of heart attack, heart failure and Stroke, and most recently, coronary artery disease. Additionally, Aiken Regional provides comprehensive healthcare services such as behavioral health (Aurora Pavilion Behavioral Health), emergency medical care (main hospital and ER at Sweetwater), orthopedic surgeries, maternity, rehabilitation services (Hitchcock Rehabilitation Services), imaging, and wound care. This position is responsible for managing accounts receivable and overseeing the daily activities and operations of all Patient Financial Services associates to ensure accuracy and compliance in accordance with all regulations, hospital and corporate policies from admission through final disposition.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Equivalent experience may be substituted for the degree.
  • 2 - 5 years experience in Hospital Financial Management/Business Office position preferred.
  • Knowledge of PC applications including Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • No licensure, membership in HFMA, with CPAT or CPAM certification.

Responsibilities

  • Develops an Operating and Capital department budget and responsible for ensuring satisfactory department budget performance for all areas of the Patient Financial Services Departments, i.e., Customer Access, Patient Access.
  • Familiar with and can interpret all managed care contracts that the hospital is presently contracted with.
  • Performs re-credentialing and other informational updates as required or requested in accordance with all current contracts.
  • Facilitates department compliance with JCAHO and other regulatory agencies.
  • Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Revenue Cycle at the facility level (Patient Access, Scheduling, Customer Access, Cashiering Function, PBX, Medical Auditing and Mail Distribution).
  • Acts as a liaison to the CBO pertaining to the handling of complaints, grievances, OCE/APC errors, zero charges.
  • Oversees all non-hospital associate's daily operations (DECO, DSS case workers, Medical Auditor).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
