About The Position

Parking & Transportation Services is an auxiliary unit responsible for overseeing the multiple aspects of traffic and transportation for the LSU campus. This includes control, enforcement, and maintenance of all parking facilities. The Director of Parking & Transportation directs and manages the organizational operations of Parking and Transportation Services to include departmental budgeting, communication, education/awareness, general administration, human resources, IT, policies and procedures, stakeholder relationships, strategic planning, technology, and transportation demand management program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 7 years of experience in parking, transportation, or related operations.
  • Demonstrated experience providing leadership, and direction of personnel.

  • Valid Class D Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all departmental general administration, operations, contract management, planning, and policy development through subordinate Assistant Directors, Managers, and Supervisors. Directs all departmental actions and responses when Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is activated. Responsible for the training and development of staff on areas of people strategy and organizational operations.
  • Oversees the departmental budget and budget projections, directs financial operations, and envelops new services and revenue sources in collaboration with the Assistant Director Financial Operations.
  • Leads development of departmental strategic plan and creates vision, objectives, goals, and benchmarks for PTS, guided by the LSU Strategic Plan 2025, Finance & Administration Strategic Plan, and the Comprehensive & Strategic Campus Master Plan, to advance the status of LSU as a national model within higher education for mobility, parking, transportation, sustainability, and accessibility.
  • Oversees all departmental communication and marketing efforts to internal and external stakeholders in collaboration with Strategic Communication. Manages departmental relationships with vendors and contractors/subcontractors to provide services to the university, including transit services.
  • Directs all master plan mobility implementation activities and manages all PTS related capital outlay and other construction projects in collaboration with LSU Planning, Design & Construction, contractors/sub-contractors, and federal, state, and local government agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned
