About The Position

The Director of Operations at Ambleside Colorado is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the operational backbone of a growing multi-campus Christian school system. This role involves collaborating with the Head of School and campus principals to ensure effective operations, promote fiscal responsibility, and support sustainable growth across all campuses. The Director will establish cohesive systems and processes in areas such as HR, IT, payroll, budgeting, and campus expansion logistics, ensuring the successful implementation of the school's mission.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in operations management, preferably in an educational or non-profit setting.
  • Strong understanding of HR, IT, payroll, budgeting, and compliance processes.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with financial planning and budgeting.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee logistics for new campus launches, ensuring seamless setup of administrative and operational systems.
  • Coordinate branding, develop policies unique to each location, and provide ongoing support to integrate new campuses into the school's ecosystem.
  • Develop a multi-site ecosystem to support consistent operations across multiple campuses.
  • Plan for and take advantage of economies of scale to expand mission impact, decrease overhead, and increase efficiency.
  • Build and administer HR systems and programs that align with organizational retention strategies and budgetary directives.
  • Manage Professional Employer Organizations (PEO) relationship and ensure compliance and consistency of policy across campuses.
  • Budget, develop, and maintain a durable IT hardware and software infrastructure to support a multi-campus ecosystem.
  • Oversee payroll processing to ensure accurate and timely payments for hourly employees and 1099 contractors.
  • Manage and authorize payments through accounts payable software and ensure timely invoicing and collection from tenants and families.
  • Collaborate with the ED and Accountant to support the annual budgeting process and assist campus principals in forecasting expenses.
  • Ensure the school adheres to local, state, and federal regulations, especially those related to non-profit status, education, health, and safety.
  • Supervise facility maintenance, repairs, and improvement projects, ensuring each campus is safe and conducive to learning.
