About The Position

The Director of Operations oversees key operational areas across YWCA Utah’s multi-building residential and program campus, including Information Technology, the Business Office (including In-Kind Donations), and Food Services. This role ensures that operational systems, infrastructure, and processes support effective service delivery, regulatory compliance, and organizational efficiency. The Director supervises operational staff, manages vendor relationships, and supports campus-wide systems including technology infrastructure, communications systems, food service compliance, and staff onboarding. The Director collaborates closely with program and executive leadership to strengthen operational systems that support staff and the families served by YWCA Utah.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that strengthen compliance, efficiency, and service quality
  • Ensure operational areas meet regulatory requirements (including CACFP, Health Department, financial, and technology standards)
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and lead continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strengthen internal controls and documentation practices
  • Use data and systems thinking to improve cross-functional workflows
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic operational planning
  • Supervise the Business Office Coordinator and Food Services Coordinator
  • Coordinate and oversee contracted IT technicians and vendor relationships
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development for direct reports
  • Manage departmental budgets and monitor operational expenses
  • Oversee campus technology infrastructure and operational software systems
  • Manage technology asset tracking and staff system access
  • Support compliant and efficient food service operations
  • Lead the operations portion of campus-wide staff onboarding
  • Collaborate on capital projects and infrastructure improvements
  • Support emergency preparedness and campus safety coordination
  • Work closely with program leaders to ensure operational systems support service delivery
  • Communicate proactively with leadership to ensure alignment before executing major initiatives
  • Anticipate operational impacts of decisions across departments
  • Foster collaboration between operational departments and program teams
