This role requires ensuring that service levels are consistently met and that internal controls are maintained to protect the organization. A key focus is on tightly managing expenses while ensuring that all services are delivered with the requisite quality expected by stakeholders. This role requires more than operational expertise and effective management of day to day processes. The Director of Operations must thrive in complexity, embrace adversity, and navigate a wide range of evolving challenges while keeping pace with the accelerating demands of the Wealth Management business. Success in this role is defined by the ability to lead through change—bringing clarity, resilience, and momentum—while actively engaging and carrying the entire team forward. The Director must be able to support a wide array of growth initiatives and internal performance improvement projects simultaneously, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability. Managing key vendor relationships to benefit PNC Wealth Management (PNCWM) is also essential. The Director needs to consistently balance the operational needs of the organization with those of end customers and the financial advisors who rely on these services. Maintaining the firm’s risk profile is crucial; the Director must ensure that operational decisions do not expose the firm to risks it is unwilling to take. The ability to be present in Cleveland and Pittsburgh, where the majority of staff are located, is important. PNC is an in-office company that fosters a supportive culture where employees can thrive and achieve balance. We encourage candidates to connect with their recruiter and hiring manager to understand workplace expectations and ensure the role aligns with their goals.
