The Director of Operations will oversee several facets of the operation of Innovation Franklinton (Idea Foundry). This position is the point-person for all operating activities for the facility. The Director of Operations reports to the VP of Operations. The Director of Operations will manage the office leases and co-working space and serve as the main point of contact for those individuals and companies. Additionally, the Director of Operations will manage the makerspace and serve as the main point of contact for the members. The Director of Operations will be responsible for creating and managing activities, live events, and educational opportunities that will drive earned and contributed revenues.

Requirements

  • Ability to solve problems, including diplomatic resolution of situations that sometimes arise from public users of the theatre.
  • Ability to work well with the public and theatre users.
  • Ability to perform moderate lifting, standing, bending, and kneeling.
  • Ability to climb stairs repeatedly throughout course of performance and/or workday, as necessary.
  • Basic computer skills for email communication, record keeping, and administrative tasks.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems and general building maintenance.
  • Bachelors degree in business, finance, or arts administration preferred
  • Typically, 3-5 years of experience with facility operations, ideally within the non-profit arts industry, are needed to have sufficient experience and judgement to perform this role of this size and complexity.
  • Experience working with the public.
  • Prior experience managing a staff of 4+.
  • Successful background check.
  • This position requires occasional presence on-site during nights and weekends and is on-call 24/7 to respond to emergencies.
