The Center for Nonprofit Excellence (CNE) is seeking a strategic, systems-savvy, and mission-driven Director of Operations & Programs to join our leadership team. This senior role blends operational oversight with programmatic vision to ensure that CNE's internal systems and external services operate with excellence, efficiency, and lasting impact.   • Oversee and strengthen systems across finance, HR, IT, and administration.
  • Partner with the Executive Director and Board Treasurer to manage budgets, compliance, and risk.
  • Identify inefficiencies and design solutions that increase organizational sustainability.
  • Supervise contractors and vendors ensuring effective service delivery.
  • Supervise and guide staff in delivering trainings, workshops, and nonprofit advising services.
  • Ensure programs align with CNE's strategic goals and member needs.
  • Lead program evaluation and share impact insights with key stakeholders.
  • Serve as a lead facilitator, trainer, and advisor in member-facing engagements.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to set and execute organizational priorities.
  • Support and coach team managers while cultivating a culture of learning and accountability.
  • Represent CNE externally to funders, partners, and community leaders.
  • Provide staff leadership for board committees, especially Finance and Programs.
  • 8-10 years of progressive nonprofit management experience.
  • Proven ability to supervise teams, manage budgets, and lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Expertise in at least one operational area (finance, HR, systems, etc.) and one programmatic area (training, advising, facilitation, etc.).
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, with a focus on equity and inclusion.
  • Confidence in working with boards, funders, and senior-level stakeholders.
