About The Position

The Director of Operations for the Physician Assistant (PA) Program is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and administrative functions of the PA program. This role ensures the program runs smoothly and efficiently, supporting the academic and clinical training of PA students. The Director of Operations will collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners to maintain high standards of program delivery and compliance.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management or operations, preferably in an academic or healthcare setting. Experience with accreditation processes and standards.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and management skills. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Proficiency in budget management and financial analysis. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain professional standards, attitude, and performance levels to ensure effective, safe, ethical, and legal performance in all aspects of the position. This includes giving serious consideration to all forms of informal and formal performance evaluation (e.g., student evaluations, classroom visitation, annual performance review, clinical site evaluation) and seeking methods for improvement while striving for academic excellence.
  • Direct and manage the day-to-day operational functions of the program at the campus level.
  • Oversee programmatic personnel, facilities, and administrative operations to support academic program delivery.
  • Provide leadership in onboarding, training, and support of programmatic faculty and administrative staff at the campus.
  • Attend monthly meetings and ongoing communication with the PA Program Director
  • Collect, analyze, and report student, personnel, and financial data to support strategic decision-making at the campus level.
  • Coordinate and oversee data collection and documentation required for accreditation reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional, school, and departmental policies, including fiscal and personnel guidelines.
  • Assist the Program Director in project management, problem-solving, and implementation of strategic initiatives.
  • Provide support for student events, ceremonies, and cross-campus collaboration.
  • Attend and support college-wide and departmental meetings and committees.
  • Maintain professional conduct and serve as a positive representative of the individual program and Graduate Health Professions.
  • Support programmatic effectiveness, process improvement, and student-focused operational efficiency.
  • Participate in institutional and program-specific committees, councils, or task forces.
  • Engage in professional development activities and maintain knowledge of higher education operations.
  • Foster collaboration across departments within South College.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.
