About The Position

The Director of Operations will serve as the key staff member, supporting all operational matters of the Chapter in consultation with the Chief Executive Officer. This role is crucial in ensuring that employee policies and procedures are observed, and it serves as a resource to program teams. The Director will assist in all HR-related matters, including the hiring and staffing processes for programs, as well as strategic planning. The position involves managing and supervising the implementation of all operational matters to maximize the utilization of services and equipment while promoting cross-program integration and cooperation. Competitive applicants will have proven experience managing critical and dynamic tasks, making informed and strategic decisions on behalf of a team, and deftly communicating with a wide range of stakeholders. The Director of Operations will supervise and coach staff to ensure high-quality and cost-effective implementation of all grant programs, events, and activities. This includes managing partnership agreements, subcontracts, and federal agreements in consultation with the Chief Executive Officer and Senior Director of Programs. The Director will also provide input on program budgets and budget development for proposals, monitor the overall quality of program and event deliverables, and lead process improvement efforts. Additionally, the role involves facilitating a team approach to grant research and writing, implementing and refining employee workplace policies and procedures, and ensuring that all staff have the necessary equipment and supplies to complete their work effectively. The Director will collaborate with building managers regarding facilities and maintenance and work with the Chief Executive Officer to evaluate office production and improve workflow efficiency. This position requires a commitment to improving health for children and adolescents in New Jersey and providing results-driven programs that have measurable impact. The Director must be prepared to represent the NJAAP in professional and public settings and possess a deep familiarity with best practices in nonprofit management.
