About The Position

The Director of Operations for Military Housing is responsible for the leadership, operational, and financial oversight of assigned communities and teams to achieve company goals. This role involves managing a portfolio of properties, coordinating with Community Directors, and serving as a liaison with government entities. The position can be performed remotely or from a property or regional office, and requires strong leadership and operational management skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Property Management preferred.
  • 6-7 years of multi-unit property leasing oversight experience at a Community Director level or above.
  • 3-4 years of experience managing others.
  • Strong computer skills with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Previous experience with YARDI preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Certified Professional of Occupancy (CPO) or Accredited Residential Management (ARM) certification preferred.
  • Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels and with military communities.
  • Excellent organizational and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage staff including recruitment, training, coaching, and performance evaluation.
  • Serve as a liaison with government entities and maintain communication with local authorities.
  • Direct and coordinate operations to align with company goals and policies.
  • Set specific goals for properties to motivate teams and ensure focus.
  • Implement company initiatives to ensure project sustainability.
  • Mentor and empower site teams to operate independently with corporate support.
  • Assist in overseeing capital projects and ensure they align with budgets.
  • Participate in property reporting requirements for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review market trends and implement strategies to achieve occupancy and revenue goals.
  • Conduct property inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness standards are met.
