The Director of Operations is a strategic leader who ensures successful delivery of commercial construction projects from start through closeout. This role oversees field operations, client satisfaction, and financial performance while developing and inspiring high-performing teams. Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as both a Superintendent and Project Manager in the field.
  • Experience in ground-up construction with a variety of structure builds.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients, trade partners, inspectors, and other external stakeholders.
  • Maintain a consistent field presence through regular job site visits and hands-on inspections.
  • Participate in project procurement meetings, collaborating with sales and estimating teams.
  • Oversee schedules, budgets, and deliverables while solving complex challenges.
  • Maintain thorough, accurate project documentation, including daily field reports and KPIs.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cost control to ensure project profitability.
  • Mentor and develop team members through training and performance reviews.
  • Lead regular operations meetings to align teams and address challenges.
  • Serve as an active member of the company leadership team.
  • Partner with HR to recruit, hire, and strategically assign staff.
  • Oversee and implement the company’s safety program.
  • Manage equipment and shop maintenance.
  • Ensure all work meets applicable building codes and regulatory standards.
  • Champion modern construction technology to streamline workflows.
  • Contribute to long-term operational strategy by identifying opportunities for greater efficiency.
