Director of Operations - Adult Behavioral Health
About The Position
Merakey is seeking a Director of Adult Behavioral Health for Residential Services to lead and strengthen our Long-Term Structured Residential (LTSR) and Personal Care Home (PCH) programs. This senior leadership role oversees multiple residential and community-based behavioral health services and supports teams delivering person-centered care to adults with complex needs. The Director will guide Program Directors and leadership teams, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and strong program outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to lead established services, mentor emerging leaders, and help shape the future of residential behavioral health programming within a collaborative leadership environment.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or a related clinical field.
- Minimum 2 years of mental health experience and 2 years of supervisory experience, including at least 1 year of leadership experience in a 24/7 residential behavioral health setting.
- Experience overseeing behavioral health programs across residential and/or community-based settings, with the ability to manage multiple services simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and operational oversight across LTSR, PCH, and related behavioral health programs.
- Supervise and mentor Program Directors and leadership teams, supporting professional development and strong program performance.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, person-centered residential services while maintaining regulatory and licensing compliance.
- Oversee program operations and financial performance, ensuring responsible management of program resources.
- Lead program improvement and quality initiatives to strengthen service delivery and outcomes.
- Partner with internal leaders, funders, and community stakeholders to support program growth and service expansion, including substance use services where applicable.
