NOVO's wide range of service programs offer a variety of options to provide a seamless, single source distribution system. NOVO's regional healthcare linen facilities are HLAC accredited and operate with state-of-the-art processing equipment and processes. The Director of Operations – Healthcare is a senior operations leader responsible for driving operational excellence, financial performance, safety, compliance, and people leadership across multiple Novo Health Services healthcare laundry facilities. This role partners closely with executive leadership to execute strategic initiatives, scale operations, standardize best practices, and ensure each facility consistently meets performance, quality, safety, and customer service expectations. This position plays a critical role in supporting Novo’s continued growth—both organic and through acquisition—by strengthening leadership capability at the plant level, ensuring disciplined execution, and fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and employee engagement. ________________________________________ ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic & Operational Leadership 1. Provide executive-level leadership and oversight for multiple healthcare laundry facilities, ensuring alignment with Novo’s mission, values, and business objectives. 2. Translate enterprise strategy into actionable operational plans that drive performance, scalability, and long-term sustainability. 3. Establish and reinforce a culture of continuous improvement, operational discipline, and accountability across all locations. 4. Own and lead operational excellence initiatives by identifying process improvement opportunities, driving cross-functional execution, and delivering measurable gains in efficiency, quality, safety, and cost performance. Operational Excellence & Standardization 5. Ensure consistent execution of operational standards across production, maintenance, transportation (DOT), safety, quality, and facility support functions. 6. Lead the development, implementation, and continuous refinement of standardized operating procedures (SOPs), comparing practices across facilities to identify and deploy best-in-class solutions. 7. Partner with plant leadership to optimize productivity, labor utilization, capacity planning, inventory management, and workflow efficiency. Financial & Business Management 8. Own and oversee operating budgets for each assigned facility, ensuring performance aligns with approved financial plans. 9. Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process in partnership with plant leaders and executive leadership. 10. Monitor KPIs and financial results, identify variances, and drive corrective actions to achieve divisional performance goals. 11. Participate in capital planning and investment decisions in collaboration with the Vice President of Operations and executive leadership. People Leadership & Talent Development 12. Build, coach, and develop high-performing General Managers and site leadership teams. 13. Conduct regular performance reviews, establish measurable goals, and provide ongoing, documented feedback. 14. Partner with HR to interview, select, onboard, develop, and, when necessary, progressively counsel leaders and key contributors. 15. Foster a positive, union-free work environment through fair, consistent leadership practices and open communication at all levels. Safety, Compliance & Risk Management 16. Champion a zero-incident safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT/FMCSA, HIPAA, Joint Commission, HLAC, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. 17. Ensure facilities are audit-ready at all times and proactively address risks related to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Communication & Executive Partnership 18. Serve as a key member of the Healthcare leadership team, contributing to enterprise planning, strategy, and cross-functional initiatives. 19. Conduct regular operational reviews and weekly leadership meetings to assess performance, address challenges, and align priorities.
