The Director of Nursing will plan, organize, develop, and lead the overall operation of a small home model Nursing Service Department (post-acute and long-term care) in accordance with Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations (as applicable), that govern Parker at Somerset. Ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times for those we serve while directing programs and activities. The DON will be required to initiate and maintain external relationships with a variety of customers, referral sources, payors, and other care providers to promote cross continuum collaboration to meet the needs of current and future residents and patients. L ead, educate, and monitor the performance of the nursing department in alignment with Parker’s mission, vision, and values and ensure that all care partners understand and uphold them in their daily practice. Requirements

  • A nursing degree from an accredited college or university required; master’s degree in nursing strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of five years healthcare supervisor/management experience in sub-acute and long-term care settings, DON experience required.
  • Must possess a current unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Jersey.
  • Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the needs of the residents served.
  • Possess knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities serving long term care and post-acute populations.
  • Must possess demonstrated leadership and management capabilities promoting a sense of teamwork.
  • Organize work effectively, adjust to changes in work schedule, workflow and priorities.
