About The Position

The Director of Nursing will develop and maintain the nursing service objectives and standards of nursing practice in the facility. The DON has administrative authority, responsibility and accountability for functions, activities, and training of nursing staff. Responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of care delivery systems. Orients, instructs, and supervises personnel and functions. Coordinates nursing services with other departments. Maintains supplies and adequate equipment. Maintains compliance with Federal, State, and local standards and regulations to assure quality outcome of care. Requirements

  • Must be a Registered Nurse, currently licensed by the State of Minnesota, who has training in rehabilitation nursing, gerontology, nursing service administration, management, supervision and psychiatric or geriatric nursing before or within the first twelve (12) months after appointment as Director of Nursing Services.
  • Must possess the ability to communicate verbally and in writing when directing the care of residents.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare, skilled nursing facility or assisted living community.
