About The Position

As the Director of Nursing (DON) for our Private Duty Nursing (PDN) division, you will serve as a compassionate leader, guiding a team of skilled nurses who provide life-changing care in the comfort of each child’s home. This role is ideal for a seasoned clinician who thrives in a collaborative, family-centered environment and is inspired by the opportunity to shape the standard of care across our growing pediatric community. In this leadership role, you will oversee all clinical operations within the PDN division—championing quality, ensuring safety, and supporting excellence in every aspect of care delivery. You will partner with families, clinicians, and interdisciplinary teams while upholding the highest standards set by state, federal, and Medicaid regulations. Your expertise, advocacy, and vision will directly influence the health and well-being of the children we serve.

Requirements

  • Active, unencumbered RN license in good standing with the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • At least 5 years of home health or private duty nursing experience, including pediatric experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in enteral feeding care (G-tube, NG, NJ, GJ, etc.).
  • Experience with tracheostomy care and ventilator management required.
  • Strong clinical judgment, leadership skills, and ability to support field nurses.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical oversight for all PDN cases to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Conduct in-home client visits as needed, including initial and ongoing clinical evaluations, supervisory visits, and assessments to ensure appropriateness of care and compliance with care plans.
  • Frequently work in patients’ homes to observe care delivery, support field nurses, and collaborate directly with families in the home setting.
  • Supervise, coach, and support field nurses; participate in onboarding, education, and compliance monitoring.
  • Ensure care plans, documentation, and delegated tasks meet regulatory and agency standards.
  • Collaborate with scheduling, intake, recruitment, and administrative teams to support staffing and operational needs.
  • Communicate effectively with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor changes in patient condition and ensure timely interventions and documentation.
  • Uphold infection control, safety practices, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
