About The Position

Praxis Health in partnership with Central Oregon Surgical Institute is seeking a full-time Director of Nursing for our Multispecialty Ambulatory Surgery Center in Bend, Oregon! Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical operations for a high-acuity, multispecialty ambulatory surgery center specializing in Spine, Plastic Surgery, Vascular, Podiatry and Pain management. This role is responsible for ensuring excellence in patient care, regulatory compliance, staff leadership, and operational performance across all perioperative services. The ideal candidate is a hands-on clinical leader with strong ASC experience, a deep understanding of high-complexity surgical workflows, and a proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced environment. Clinical & Operational Leadership Provide overall leadership and oversight of perioperative nursing services, including pre-op, intra-op, PACU, and sterile processing Ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with evidence-based practices Partner with anesthesia, surgeons, and executive leadership to optimize clinical operations and throughput Regulatory & Compliance Ensure compliance with AAAHC, CMS, state regulations, and accreditation standards Lead survey readiness, corrective action plans, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives Oversee infection prevention, medication management, emergency preparedness, and life safety compliance Staff Leadership & Development Recruit, onboard, mentor, and retain nursing and clinical staff Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and competency assessments Quality & Performance Management Lead quality assurance, performance improvement (QAPI), and patient safety programs Monitor clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and risk management indicators Use data and metrics to drive operational and clinical improvements Financial & Resource Management Manage staffing models, scheduling, and labor efficiency Support budget development and cost containment efforts Ensure appropriate utilization of supplies, equipment, and capital resources About Central Oregon Surgical Institute We are a premier multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center located in Bend, Oregon. Requirements

  • Active Oregon RN license
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Minimum 5+ years of perioperative nursing experience
  • Minimum 3+ years in a nursing leadership role, preferably in an ASC
  • Strong knowledge of Spine and/or high-acuity surgical services
  • Demonstrated experience with accreditation surveys (AAAHC, Joint Commission, or similar)

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field
  • CNOR or other perioperative certification
  • Experience in Spine, Plastics, Vascular and Cardiology procedures
  • Proven success leading high-performing clinical teams in an ASC setting

Responsibilities
