About The Position

Tap Healthcare Solutions is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing – Surgical Services to lead perioperative operations at Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, New Jersey . This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of surgical services, including clinical quality, operational efficiency, staff engagement, and physician collaboration. The Director will play a critical role in driving performance across key operational metrics such as block utilization, case throughput, and turnover times, while fostering a high-performing and patient-centered culture. This position offers competitive compensation ranging from approximately $157,000 to $220,000 annually based on experience , with additional compensation components such as differentials or call pay where applicable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, or active enrollment in a BSN program with completion required within 24 months.
  • Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 14 days of hire or prior to providing patient care (American Heart Association).
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of nursing leadership experience , preferably within surgical services or perioperative settings.
  • Strong clinical and operational knowledge of perioperative services (Operating Room required)

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Acute care hospital experience .
  • 5–7 years of leadership experience in surgical services preferred, though high-potential candidates with strong OR experience will be considered.
  • Strong perioperative (Operating Room) leadership experience .
  • Proven ability to lead teams through growth, change, and increased surgical volume .
  • Comfortable working in a data-driven, KPI-focused environment (e.g., block utilization, turnover times, case volume).
  • Ability to engage frontline staff , rebuild morale, and foster a collaborative team culture.
  • Skilled in balancing clinical quality, operational efficiency, and physician relationships .
