About The Position

Our client is a leading organization in the Women’s and Children’s Health sector, operating across acute-care and ambulatory settings to deliver high-quality maternal, neonatal, and pediatric services. This is an on-site senior nursing leadership role based in the United States responsible for clinical operations, patient safety, and strategic program growth across maternity, newborn, and pediatric care. The role emphasizes operational leadership, partnership with physician and administrative leadership, and stewardship of clinical quality and staff development.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States (state-specific)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred
  • Proven leadership experience directing nursing services in maternity, neonatal, or pediatric settings
  • Demonstrated success in quality improvement, patient safety programs, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience managing budgets, staffing, and operational performance for high-acuity units
  • Strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and physician partners

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications: CNO/leadership certifications, PALS, or ACLS
  • Prior experience with Epic or comparable EHR implementations
  • Experience with neonatal transport programs, regional perinatal systems, or tertiary referral centers

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic nursing leadership for Women’s and Children’s services, overseeing Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn Nursery/NICU interfaces, and Pediatric inpatient workflows.
  • Drive clinical quality, patient safety, and outcomes—implement evidence-based protocols, lead morbidity & mortality reviews, and reduce variance in care.
  • Manage operational performance: staffing models, budget stewardship, throughput optimization, and capacity planning to meet volume and acuity demands.
  • Lead regulatory readiness and accreditation activities (Joint Commission, CMS), ensuring documentation, competency, and compliance across units.
  • Develop and mentor nursing leaders and frontline staff—establish professional development, competency validation, and retention programs that improve engagement and performance.
  • Collaborate with physician leadership, quality, case management, and ancillary departments to implement clinical pathways, escalation protocols, and family-centered care initiatives.
  • Act as a visible operational leader on the units—round regularly with frontline teams, partner in clinical escalation events, and represent Women’s & Children’s services in system-level leadership meetings.
